There are many of types of chords out there. These few chords I believe are the main ones you will need to start playing most songs. I hope these diagrams are easy enough to read. As you can see the Fatter strings on the guitar are at the bottom of the diagram and the skinny strings are at the top. The black spots represent the fingers. The grey horizontal lines represent the frets. The frets are the boxes on the guitar that gradually get smaller as you go up the neck of the guitar.
